glyph_gradientIt comes with great sadness to report that a 14 year old boy from Southsea, UK, was badly injured while trying to jump a roof gap and falling short. He fell 25ft onto a flat roof and landed on his face. Emergency services were called and he was taken to hospital where he is said to be in a critical condition. We don’t yet know enough about the incident to confirm whether it was a member from our Freerun/Parkour community. We will however, use this opportunity to again, highlight that safety is always paramount and that anyone connected with our discipline (whether beginners or professionals), should take it upon themselves to take due care at all times. At Urban Freeflow we apply the strapline of ‘Start slow, stay low’ in all of our teachings and cannot condone the use of rooftops as part of any training regime. Here’s hoping for good news to come telling us that the boy in question is on the road to recovery….
