Into 2010: Moving With Ruthless Precision

glyph_pacino2009 was a full-on roller coaster ride for us at UF. The highlight for us was pulling off the biggest event in the history of the discipline with the World Champ’s at Trafalgar Square, London. Staged outdoors in front of 8000 people, all basking in glorious sunshine, were a selection of world class athletes who stepped up to show everyone why this is one of the fastest growing movements worldwide. Topped off with a live BBC TV broadcast, it was something that we’ll need to really raise our game for in 2010 to beat. Another highlight was the stills photography project with the unique and ultra charismatic Tomasz Gudzowaty. This project saw us flying all over the place (usually at very short notice) to capture stunning imagery that we can’t wait to share with everyone. We’ll sadly wrap things up with him on a shoot in Mexico on the 8th of Jan. On a community level, the scene has gone from strength to strength with skill levels rising rapidly, and good quality resources being at an all time high across a selection of PK/FR specific websites. The Urban Freeflow website now boasts 777,623 registered users and has the number one subscription base within the scene on our Facebook (17,000+) and Youtube (24,000+) channels. Our Glyphmedia youtube channel alone has racked up a mightily impressive 11,795,212 video views. Looking ahead to 2010 we can’t wait to get stuck into our 8th year and amongst the many things planned, we’ll be tweaking the way UF operates to make it even more community inclusive than it already is. The new online magazine is something that we’re very excited about and know for sure that it’ll go down a storm for those wanting to sink their teeth into something with real substance. For the continued support we receive, we’d like to say a big thank you….whether you’re an armchair fan or a fully fledged practitioner, everyone plays a vital role in keeping the wheels turning. Happy New Year everyone.
